Welcome to Rey's Roast web page! I am excited to be here as its only taken me years to figure this out. But enough of what I don't know. Let's talk about what I do know. Coffee of the month is the Burundi Masha. This natural processed coffee is from the Masha hillside in the Kayanza province of Burundi. With notes of black cherry, stone fruit and caramel, I find this coffee to be most enjoyable. The rich mouthfeel to this coffee is an added bonus. The price point is a little higher than normal for one of my coffees but this is what it appears we have to look forward to in the specialty coffee world.
Yesterday was the weekly Farmers Market I attend in Walla Walla Washington. I was able to see Rachelle who keeps this website going. She informed me that we still had nothing in the staff journal so here I am. It's funny how a little reminder can inspire us to even greater heights. While this isn't the highest of heights it's still a step in the right direction. That just might be the best I can do today is take that step. It seems as though it has taken me years to be able to take this step but finally I did it. Back to the market, we only have a couple or three more before we move inside for the winter. The weather was fabulous, warm, sunny and no wind. The Market has really filled a void left by the old Rey's Roast coffee shop that closed at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown. I didn't miss getting up at 4 in the morning but I did miss my customers. Now I get the opportunity every Saturday to create new friends and introduce new people to Rey's Roast Coffees. What a gift! I am so grateful for all that coffee has brought to my life. Coffee has created so many relationships over the years. So many different single estate coffees we have tasted over the years that I can almost imagine being on that mountain side where each originated. Omg I digress. And finally, being the first part of October before long that second Tuesday of November will be on us. Please be sure to vote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oCx9r2Gykk
